Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado cash transfers begin

Starting January 17, the Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado (IMG) strategy will begin payments for the first cycle of the year to the first group of beneficiaries. In this way, support will reach more than 256,000 households experiencing extreme poverty and vulnerability.

These transfers will be made in stages through digital wallets such as DaviPlata, Nequi, MOVii, Bancolombia a la Mano, and Dale.

Transfer details

For this first cycle of IMG cash transfers, we will invest a total of more than 45 billion pesos under the administration of Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán. Starting this month, the monthly transfer amount for older adults will increase to $150,000.

Financial support distributed in January

The new IMG issues cash transfer payments to different population groups identified under the new targeting criteria.

It is important to note that the number of people receiving the money is higher than the number of households served. This is because one person may receive several payments.

These initiatives are part of the government's commitment to fighting poverty and supporting the country's most vulnerable families. In addition, digital wallets offer a modern and accessible way to deliver these subsidies.

The government's investment is part of a broader strategy aimed at improving living conditions for those who need it most. With the challenge of reaching more beneficiaries, IMG will become a key program in the country's social policy.

As the transfer cycles progress, they are expected to have a significant impact on the community by providing financial resources to families facing severe economic hardship. This type of assistance is essential to ensure food security and the well-being of households living in extreme poverty.

Ultimately, the success of Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado (Guaranteed Minimum Income) will depend not only on the proper implementation of the transfers, but also on raising awareness and providing education on how to make the most of this assistance. Beneficiaries must be informed about the steps required to access these resources and how to manage their finances through the available digital platforms.

Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado (Guaranteed Minimum Income) is an important step toward a future in which all citizens can enjoy a decent and sustainable standard of living. Responsibility lies not only with the government, but also with each beneficiary, who must use the resources received thoughtfully.
